This beautiful ancient Roman coin is well centered and has fine detail. This coin features the portrait of Roman emperor  Maximinus, who reigned at the beginning of a nearly half century period of civil war. Maximinus was born in Thrace (mostly in modern day Bulgaria). He enlisted in the Roman army and quickly advanced through the ranks before being proclaimed emperor. 

The coin is mounted in a high quality hand-made solid 14kt solid yellow gold  twisted wire pendant with a genuine cabachon ruby The pendant measures 1 1/2" tall x 7/8" wide. The total weight is 6.4 grams.
